What is Dodgeball?

Dodgeball is the name of a traditional American game usually taught in physical education classes. There are many variations of the game, but each involve players trying to avoid being hit by a ball that players on the other team are throwing at them.

The United States Dodgeball League, The American Dodgeball Federation and Dodge-It Dodgeball Centers are the three leading organizations in the growing world of dodgeball.

Also known as war ball, prison ball, or chain ball - dodgeball is played in some variation in almost every country.  Japanese students play dodgeball almost daily at school.

This nontraditional sport requires minimal equipment, set up and playing experience.  Team work and strategy are more valuable factors in dodgeball than athletic skill and individual competitiveness. Anyone can play!
