Nurturing the Family Program
Individual and group services are available to families who have used the Children's Crisis Care program, offering families a new way to learn to take charge of their lives. Establishes positive parent-child interation.
Nurturing Parents
Working in the home with parents and children on specific parenting problems. This program has detailed learning objectives and is short term.
Client Follow Up
Offers phone follow up after Crisis Child Care, short term individual crisis counseling, evaluation feedback, community outreach and awareness. Allows for advocacy for parents and children.
Parent Talk I & II
An intensive support group for very high risk parents experiencing significant barriers to effective parenting. Primarily for families who have need of the Children's Crisis Care program more than once. This is an on-going support group, 2 hours per week where child care is provided.
Parenting In the Real World
An eight week comprehensive series covering family goals and values, self-esteem, communication skills, discipline/behavior management, effective consequences, managing stress and anger and media influence. In collaboration with Early Program, Washington School, Urbana.
1, 2, 3, Magic (Discipline)
A four week parent class focusing on easy to follow steps for disciplining children aged two to twelve. In collaboration with C-U Early Program.
Mom's Club
Parent-child playgroup targeting child development and care, community resources and developmentally appropriate learning activities. Encourages the development of parent-to-parent support network. In collaboration with C-U Early Program.
Ready, Set, Play
A four week hands-on workshop where parents make and utilize learning materials for infant and toddler activities. In collaboration with Early Program, Washington School, Urbana.
Parent Child Interaction
A six or eight week parent-child interaction group for either infants or toddlers. Parents learn how children learn and grow, also effective ways of encouraging this developmental process.
