Part-Time, Second-Shift Children's Worker

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age, per DCFS requirements.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Have one year experience working with children, preferably birth - five.
  • Demonstrate skill in dealing effectively with children and families.
  • Capacity to work as a team with internal administration, staff, volunteers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function in stressful, complex situations.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers.

 

Job Description:

Reports primarily to the Program Director

  • Provide and participate in developmentally appropriate play.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of the children's program through daily lesson plans (including music, reading, art, fine motor/cognitive, and gross motor development).
  • Works under direct supervision of Lead Children's Worker.
  • Participation in outside Crisis Nursery activities as appropriate.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Maintain the minimal level of cleanliness at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
