Family Specialist provides support to Crisis Nursery families and their children aged birth-6 through parenting education, group-work, home-visiting, coordination with crisis/respite care, and community outreach. Family Specialist works with families facing child maltreatment risk factors, including perinatal depression, with the intention of strengthening the family unit and improving family stability. Candidate must have experience working with children and families, strong public speaking skills, experience with diverse populations, and experience in planning and leading support groups and play groups. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends, and be on-call during scheduled times each month. This is a full-time or part-time position with competitive benefits.
Bachelor’s degree and Spanish language fluency required. Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.

Crisis Nursery creates an “Island of Safety” dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect by providing 24-hour emergency care for children and support to strengthen families in crisis.
We are looking for dedicated, caring, and energetic individuals to care for young children at our facility. Full-time second shift position (3:00-11:00pm) and part-time positions including evenings and weekends available. Must be at least 18 years old, and have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
To succeed in this position you will need:
at least one year experience working in childcare
a genuine interest in working with children
the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
a positive, friendly attitude
high-level verbal and written communication skills
initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
